Example shown. Type your number to get your own code.

Step by step

Four steps, from the business phone.

  1. 01

    Call your Phoneman number first

Talk to your assistant before you forward your business line.

  2. 02

Dial the code from your business line

On the business phone’s keypad, dial **21* followed by your 10-digit Phoneman number and #, then press call.

  3. 03

    Wait for the confirmation

Your carrier confirms with a tone or a message. Then hang up.

  4. 04

    Check it

Call your business line from another phone. Your assistant should answer.

Only calls you don’t answer? The Phoneman app’s forwarding guide shows that code for Cricket and Consumer Cellular. Codes can differ by plan, so confirm it with your carrier.

Turn it off

Stop forwarding any time.

  • Turn off forwarding of every call#21#
  • Turn off all forwarding##002#

Dial it from the business line. Your phone then works exactly as before.

Troubleshooting

Calls still ring my phone instead of Phoneman

Dial the code again from the business line itself. The code only works from that line’s own keypad. Codes can differ by plan, so if it still doesn’t work, ask your carrier how to turn on call forwarding and give them your Phoneman number.

Phoneman says it will transfer, then the call comes back

Don’t set Call transfers to the line you forward from: the call would come straight back to Phoneman. Choose a different number for transfers, such as your mobile.

A forwarded or transferred call never rings through

Spam or robocall screening on the receiving phone (for example Verizon Call Filter or AT&T ActiveArmor) can answer first and ask the caller to press a key. Turn it off for that phone, or allow your Phoneman number.

I can’t tell whether forwarding is on

Phoneman can’t see your carrier’s settings. Call your business line from another phone: if your assistant answers, forwarding is on.
